Police Department works to reunite owners with recovered personal items
With over 7,500 homes impacted during the May 22 tornado, many personal items were lost or displaced in the debris. During clean-up efforts, some items have been turned in to the Joplin Police Department.

Rick Beck with the Police Department has identified and cataloged these displaced belongings with the goal of returning them to their owners. A list of names has been posted on the City of Joplin’s website to inform residents that the City may have some of their lost belongings. This list can be found on the city’s home page at www.joplinmo.org. The direct link to this information is www.joplinmo.org/pdf/lost&found.pdf.

Citizens whose names appear on the list must make an appointment with the Joplin Police Department to collect their items by calling Officer Beck at 417-623-3131, ext. 450.
