Mission: to support the citizens' desire for Quality Schools by developing a community of learners rooted in strong communications, collaboration, critical thinking, and creative thought to ensure an engaged and informed community.

Mission: to support the citizens' desire for a Well-Governed City through long-term strategic governance by examining present and future resources of all types.

Mission: to support the citizens' desire for a Healthy Place to Live by increasing the use of preventive health practices for all ages, reducing health inequality among our citizens, and improving access to mental health and substance abuse treatments that yield long-term results.

Mission: to support the citizens' desire for a Vibrant Economy with a Thriving Workforce by growing the job market.

Mission: to support the citizens' desire for Strong Community Pride by growing the emotional engagement of our citizens for our community so they speak about Joplin in positive terms and champion our region's brand.

Mission: to support the citizens' desire for Access to Parks, Culture, Recreation, Life-Long Learning and Leisure Time Activities by creating a diverse and inclusive community that honors family, culture and the arts & recreation in a safe and welcoming environment.
